Pehla Kalma Meaning

There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah; Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah.
اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا کوئی معبودِ برحق نہیں، حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اللہ تعالیٰ کے رسول ہیں۔
This declaration affirms belief in the oneness of Allah and acceptance of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the Messenger of Allah.
Pehla Kalma in the Quran
The two parts of the declaration appear in separate passages of the Quran.
فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ
Meaning: Know that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.
مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِ
Meaning: Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah.
The complete wording commonly taught as the Pehla Kalma does not appear as one complete Quranic verse. Its first declaration appears in Surah Muhammad 47:19, while its second declaration appears in Surah Al-Fath 48:29.

Sincere Testimony and Forgiveness
HasanMu‘adh bin Jabal reported that a person who dies sincerely affirming that none is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad ﷺ is Allah’s Messenger, with certainty in the heart, will receive Allah’s forgiveness.
Encouraging La Ilaha Illallah Near Death
SahihAbu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Muslims to encourage those nearing death to say: “La ilaha illallah.”
Islam Is Built Upon Five
SahihIbn ‘Umar reported that Islam is built upon five foundations: the testimony of faith, establishing prayer, giving Zakat, fasting Ramadan and performing Hajj to the House.
