Sahih Bukhari 4618 – English Translation
Some people drank alcoholic beverages in the morning (of the day) of the Uhud battle and on the same day they were killed as martyrs, and that was before wine was prohibited.

غزوہ احد میں بہت سے صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے صبح صبح شراب پی تھی اور اسی دن وہ سب شہید کر دیئے گئے تھے۔ اس وقت شراب حرام نہیں ہوئی تھی ( اس لیے وہ گنہگار نہیں ٹھہرے ) ۔

حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ صَبَّحَ أُنَاسٌ غَدَاةَ أُحُدٍ الْخَمْرَ فَقُتِلُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمْ جَمِيعًا شُهَدَاءَ، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ تَحْرِيمِهَا.
