Darood Sharif:

Sending blessings (durood sharif) on the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) is the part of our prayers(namaz), we do it five times a day. Whereas, Darood Ibrahim is Afzal from all daroods. The one who sends Darood upon Muhammad (P.B.U.H), Allah will shower countless blessings upon him, will always feel peace.

However, make a habit to recite Darood Sharif (درودشریف) before going to sleep daily. Additionally, there are many Darood Sharif benefits for the one who recites it daily with affection and respect. This Darood reflects one’s true love and affection towards Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).

اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَعَلٰٓی اٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِکْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَعَلٰٓی اٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ
English Translation
O Allah! Shower blessings upon Muhammad (S.A.W) and on the family of Muhammad (S.A.W) as you showered blessings upon Ibrahim (A.S) and on the family of Ibrahim (A.S)… Surely, You are the Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah! Bestow favours upon Muhammad(S.A.W) and on the family of Muhammad (S.A.W) as You bestowed favours on Ibrahim (A.S) and on the family of Ibrahim (A.S)… Surely, You are the Praiseworthy, Glorious.
Urdu Roman Translation
Ya Allah Tu Muhammed (S.A.W) ko Salaamti dey Aur Muhammed (S.A.W) ki Aal ko Salaamti de Jaisai Tuney Ibrahim (A.S) ko Salaamti dee Aur Ibrahim (A.S) ki Aal ko Salaamti dee. Beshaq tu har taareef ke qaabil hai, aur bada rehmat waala hai. Ya Allah Tu Muhammed (S.A.W) ko Barkat dey Aur Muhammed (S.A.W) ki Aal ko Barkat de Jaisai Tuney Ibrahim (A.S) ko Barkat dee Aur Ibrahim (A.S) ki Aal ko Barkat dee. Beshaq tu har taareef ke qaabil hai, aur bada rehmat waala hai.
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ! محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر درود بھیج اور محمد(صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم)کے اہل خانہ پر ، جیسا کہ آپ نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر درود بخشی اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے اہل خانہ پر بےشک تم قابل حمد ہو ، اے اللہ! محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر برکت عطا کریں اور محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے اہل خانہ پر ، جیسا کہ آپ نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر احسان کیا اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے اہل خانہ پر بےشک تم قابل حمد ہو ،
Transliteration
Allahumma Sal’lee ‘Ala Muhammadiu Wa ‘Ala Alee Muhammadin Kama Sal’lay’ta ‘Ala Ibrahima Wa ‘Ala Alee Ibrahima, Innaka Hammidum Majeed. Allahumma Ba’rik ‘Ala Muhammadiu Wa ‘Ala Alee Muhammadin Kama Ba’rak’ta ‘Ala Ibrahima Wa ‘Ala Alee Ibrahima, Innaka Hammidum Majeed.

 

As the entire world population is benefited through the Holy Prophet (SAW) that is why Allah Almighty, says in Holy Quran:

“Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.” (Quran, 33: 56)

Importance of Darood According to Hadith:

Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said:“On the day of Judgment the person closest to me will be the one who has sent the most Durood into me.” (Tirmidhi).

On Friday, send Durood abundantly to me, as it is presented before me.” (Abu Dawud)

It is also the way of fulfilling one’s religious duty of adoring Muhammad (SAW) as Anas (RA) has narrated in Sahih Bukhari: “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all mankind.” (Bukhari)

There are a lot of other hadiths in this regard, I added as much as I researched. so we should invoke blessing as much as we can, to become a good human being.
