Sahih Bukhari 1416 – English Translation
Whenever Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered us to give in charity, we used to go to the market and work as porters and get a Mudd (a special measure of grain) and then give it in charity. (Those were the days of poverty) and today some of us have one hundred thousand.
Sahih Bukhari 1416 – Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جب ہمیں صدقہ کرنے کا حکم دیا تو ہم میں سے بہت سے بازار جا کر بوجھ اٹھانے کی مزدوری کرتے اور اس طرح ایک مد ( غلہ یا کھجور وغیرہ ) حاصل کرتے ۔ ( جسے صدقہ کر دیتے ) لیکن آج ہم میں سے بہت سوں کے پاس لاکھ لاکھ ( درہم یا دینار ) موجود ہیں ۔

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَمَرَنَا بِالصَّدَقَةِ انْطَلَقَ أَحَدُنَا إِلَى السُّوقِ فَتَحَامَلَ فَيُصِيبُ الْمُدَّ، وَإِنَّ لِبَعْضِهِمُ الْيَوْمَ لَمِائَةَ أَلْفٍ.
