Mola Ali shadat: Hakim 4590

Muslims revere Ali ibn Abi Talib (علی ابن ابی طالب علیہ السلام), the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), for his unwavering faith and courage. Today, we delve into a powerful hadith (saying) that sheds light on Ali’s remarkable character in the face of adversity.

The Hadith: A Testament to Strength

The narration comes from Abu Sufyan ad-Dawli, who visits Ali after he sustains a wound. Witnessing Ali’s injury, Abu Sufyan expresses his concern. Ali’s response, however, is one of remarkable composure and trust in Allah’s plan.

Here is the translation in English:

Abu Sufyan ad-Dawli reported: Ali was wounded, and I went to visit him. I said, “O Commander of the faithful, we are grieved by your wound!” Ali said, “By God, I am not grieved by it, for the truthful and trustworthy Messenger of God (ﷺ) informed me that I would be wounded in this spot” – and he pointed to his forehead – “and that blood would flow from it until it dyed my beard red. The one who martyred me from this nation will be the most wretched one of it, just as the one who hamstrung the she-camel was the most wretched one of the Thamud.”
