Sahih Bukhari 4619 – English Translation
I heard `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ while he was on the pulpit of the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Now then O people! The revelation about the prohibition of alcoholic drinks was revealed; and alcoholic drinks are extracted from five things: Grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley. And the alcoholic drink is that which confuses and stupefies the mind."
Sahih Bukhari 4619 – Urdu Translation
میں نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے منبر پر کھڑے فرما رہے تھے۔ امابعد! اے لوگو! جب شراب کی حرمت نازل ہوئی تو وہ پانچ چیزوں سے تیار کی جاتی تھی۔ انگور، کھجور، شہد، گیہوں اور جَو سے اور شراب ہر وہ پینے کی چیز ہے جو عقل کو زائل کر دے۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى، وَابْنُ، إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ أَمَّا بَعْدُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ وَهْىَ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ، مِنَ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ وَالْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ، وَالْخَمْرُ مَا خَامَرَ الْعَقْلَ.
