Sahih Bukhari 3495, 3496 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ''The people follow the Quraish in such a way as the Muslims follow the Muslims amongst them and the infidels follow the infidels amongst them. And the people are like minerals. The tribe which were the best in the pre-Islamic era of ignorance, are the best in the era of Islam; provided, they acquire the religious knowledge. Now you will find him the best person who abhors rulership the most until he gets involved in it.''
Sahih Bukhari 3495, 3496 – Urdu Translation
نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اس ( خلافت کے ) معاملے میں لوگ قریش کے تابع ہیں ، عام مسلمان قریشی مسلمانوں کے تابع ہیں جس طرح ان کے عام کفار قریشی کفار کے تابع رہتے چلے آئے ہیں ۔ اور انسانوں کی مثال کان کی طرح ہے ، جو لوگ جاہلیت کے دور میں شریف تھے وہ اسلام لانے کے بعد بھی شریف ہیں جب کہ انہوں نے دین کی سمجھ بھی حاصل کی ہو تم دیکھو گے کہ بہترین اور لائق وہی ثابت ہوں گے جو خلافت و امارت کے عہدے کو بہت زیادہ ناپسند کرتے رہے ہوں ، یہاں تک کہ وہ اس میں گرفتار ہو جائیں ۔
Sahih Bukhari 3495, 3496 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " النَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ فِي هَذَا الشَّأْنِ، مُسْلِمُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِمُسْلِمِهِمْ، وَكَافِرُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِكَافِرِهِمْ ".
"وَالنَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا، تَجِدُونَ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ كَرَاهِيَةً لِهَذَا الشَّأْنِ حَتَّى يَقَعَ فِيهِ."
