Short Durood Sharif in Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad

What Is This Short Durood?

A concise form of sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his family.

This Durood is a short and easy form of Salawat: asking Allah to send His blessings upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the family of Muhammad ﷺ.

The wording is reported in Sunan an-Nasa’i 1292 from Musa bin Talha, through Zaid bin Kharijah رضی اللہ عنہ.

Muslims may send Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ frequently. However, a fixed claim that this wording must be read exactly 1,000 times daily, or that it guarantees particular worldly results, should not be attributed to this hadith because the narration itself does not state those claims.
