Sahih Bukhari 912 – English Translation
In the lifetime of the Prophet, Abu Bakr and `Umar, the Adhan for the Jumua prayer used to be pronounced when the Imam sat on the pulpit. But during the Caliphate of `Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ when the Muslims increased in number, a third Adhan at Az-Zaura' was added. Abu `Abdullah said, "Az-Zaura' is a place in the market of Medina."

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور حضرت ابوبکر اور حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے زمانے میں جمعہ کی پہلی اذان اس وقت دی جاتی تھی جب امام منبر پر خطبہ کے لیے بیٹھتے لیکن حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے زمانہ میں جب مسلمانوں کی کثرت ہو گئی تو وہ مقام زوراء سے ایک اور اذان دلوانے لگے ۔ ابوعبداللہ امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ زوراء مدینہ کے بازار میں ایک جگہ ہے ۔
Sahih Bukhari 912 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ كَانَ النِّدَاءُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوَّلُهُ إِذَا جَلَسَ الإِمَامُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُثْمَانُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ وَكَثُرَ النَّاسُ زَادَ النِّدَاءَ الثَّالِثَ عَلَى الزَّوْرَاءِ.
