Sahih Bukhari 761 – English Translation
Did the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite the Qur'an in the Zuhr and the `Asr prayers. He replied in the affirmative. I said, "How did you come to know that?" He replied, "From the movement of his beard."

کیا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر اور عصر کی نمازوں میں قرآت کیا کرتے تھے ؟ تو انھوں نے کہا کہ ہاں ! میں نے کہا کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرآت کرنے کو آپ لوگ کس طرح معلوم کر لیتے تھے ؟ فرمایا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی داڑھی مبارک کے ہلنے سے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِخَبَّابِ بْنِ الأَرَتِّ أَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قَالَ نَعَمْ. قَالَ قُلْتُ بِأَىِّ شَىْءٍ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ قِرَاءَتَهُ قَالَ بِاضْطِرَابِ لِحْيَتِهِ.
