Sahih Bukhari 5581 – English Translation
`Umar رضی اللہ عنہ stood up on the pulpit and said, "Now then, prohibition of alcoholic drinks have been revealed, and these drinks are prepared from five things, i.e.. grapes, dates, honey, wheat or barley And an alcoholic drink is that, that disturbs the mind.
Sahih Bukhari 5581 – Urdu Translation
حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ ممبر پر کھڑے ہوئے اور کہا امابعد ! جب شراب کی حرمت کا حکم نازل ہوا تو وہ پانچ چیزوں سے بنتی تھی ۔ انگور ، کھجور ، شہد ، گیہوں اور جو اور شراب ( خمر ) وہ ہے جو عقل کو زائل کر دے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَامَ عُمَرُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ وَهْىَ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ وَالْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ، وَالْخَمْرُ مَا خَامَرَ الْعَقْلَ.
