Sahih Bukhari 5339 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "It is not lawful for a Muslim woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days, except for her husband, for whom she should mourn for four months and ten days."
Sahih Bukhari 5339 – Urdu Translation
نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ایک مسلمان عورت جو اللہ اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان رکھتی ہو۔ اس کے لیے جائز نہیں کہ وہ کسی ( کی وفات ) کا سوگ تین دن سے زیادہ منائے سوا شوہر کے کہ اس کے لیے چار مہینے دس دن ہیں۔
Sahih Bukhari 5339 – Arabic Text
وَسَمِعْتُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ تُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ، أَنْ تُحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجِهَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا.
