Sahih Bukhari 5062 – English Translation
He heard a man reciting a Quranic Verse which he had heard the Prophet (ﷺ) reciting in a different way. So he took that man to the Prophet (and told him the story). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Both of you are reciting in a correct way, so carry on reciting." The Prophet (ﷺ) further added, "The nations which were before you were destroyed (by Allah) because they differed."
Sahih Bukhari 5062 – Urdu Translation
انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کے خلاف سنی تھی ۔ ( ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ ) پھر میں نے ان کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور انہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں لایا ۔ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم دونوں صحیح ہو ( اس لئے اپنے اپنے طور پر پڑھو ۔ ) ( شعبہ کہتے ہیں کہ ) میرا غالب گمان یہ ہے کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ بھی فرمایا ( اختلاف و نزاع نہ کیا کرو ) کیونکہ تم سے پہلے کی امتوں نے اختلاف کیا اور اسی وجہ سے اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا ۔
Sahih Bukhari 5062 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنِ النَّزَّالِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلاً، يَقْرَأُ آيَةً، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خِلاَفَهَا، فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَانْطَلَقْتُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " كِلاَكُمَا مُحْسِنٌ فَاقْرَآ ـ أَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي قَالَ ـ فَإِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمُ اخْتَلَفُوا فَأَهْلَكَهُمْ ".
