Sahih Bukhari 4989 – English Translation
Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ sent for me and said, "You used to write the Divine Revelations for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : So you should search for (the Qur'an and collect) it." I started searching for the Qur'an till I found the last two Verses of Surat at-Tauba with Abi Khuza`ima Al-Ansari and I could not find these Verses with anybody other than him. (They were): 'Verily there has come unto you an Apostle (Muhammad) from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty …' (9.128-129)
Sahih Bukhari 4989 – Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے زمانہء خلافت میں مجھے بلایا اور کہا کہ تم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے قرآن لکھتے تھے ۔ اس لئے اب بھی قرآن ( جمع کرنے کے لئے ) تم ہی تلاش کرو ۔ میں نے تلاش کی اور سورۃ التوبہ کی آخری دو آیتیں مجھے حضرت خزیمہ انصاری کے پاس لکھی ہوئی ملیں ، ان کے سوا اور کہیں یہ دو آیتیں نہیں مل رہی تھیں ۔ وہ آیتیں یہ تھیں ۔ لقد جاء کم رسول من انفسکم عزیز علیہ ما عنتم آخر تک ۔
Sahih Bukhari 4989 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ السَّبَّاقِ، قَالَ إِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَىَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ إِنَّكَ كُنْتَ تَكْتُبُ الْوَحْىَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاتَّبِعِ الْقُرْآنَ. فَتَتَبَّعْتُ حَتَّى وَجَدْتُ آخِرَ سُورَةِ التَّوْبَةِ آيَتَيْنِ مَعَ أَبِي خُزَيْمَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ لَمْ أَجِدْهُمَا مَعَ أَحَدٍ غَيْرَهُ {لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ} إِلَى آخِرِهِ.
