Sahih Bukhari 4916 – English Translation
The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) out of their jealousy, backed each other against the Prophet, so I said to them, "It may be, if he divorced you all, that Allah will give him, instead of you wives better than you." So this Verse was revealed. (66.5)
Sahih Bukhari 4916 – Urdu Translation
نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ازواج نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو غیرت دلانے کے لیے جمع ہو گئیں تو میں نے ان سے کہا اگر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم طلاق دے دیں تو ان کا پروردگار تمہارے بدلے میں انہیں تم سے بہتر بیویاں دیدے گا۔ چنانچہ یہ آیت نازل ہوئی «عسى ربه إن طلقكن» آخر تک۔
Sahih Bukhari 4916 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ اجْتَمَعَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْغَيْرَةِ عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُنَّ عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبَدِّلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ. فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ.
