Sahih Bukhari 4601 – English Translation
Regarding the Verse:–"If a woman fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part." (4.128) It is about a man who has a woman (wife) and he does not like her and wants to divorce her but she says to him, "I make you free as regards myself." So this Verse was revealed in this connection.
Sahih Bukhari 4601 – Urdu Translation
آیت «وإن امرأة خافت من بعلها نشوزا أو إعراضا.» ”اور کسی عورت کو اپنے شوہر کی طرف سے زیادتی یا بے رغبتی کا خوف ہو“ کے متعلق کہا کہ ایسا مرد جس کے ساتھ اس کی بیوی رہتی ہے، لیکن شوہر کو اس کی طرف کوئی خاص توجہ نہیں، بلکہ وہ اسے جدا کر دینا چاہتا ہے، اس پر عورت کہتی ہے کہ میں اپنی باری اور اپنا ( نان نفقہ ) معاف کر دیتی ہوں ( تم مجھے طلاق نہ دو ) تو ایسی صورت کے متعلق یہ آیت اسی باب میں اتری۔
Sahih Bukhari 4601 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ {وَإِنِ امْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًا}. قَالَتِ الرَّجُلُ تَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ لَيْسَ بِمُسْتَكْثِرٍ مِنْهَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُفَارِقَهَا فَتَقُولُ أَجْعَلُكَ مِنْ شَأْنِي فِي حِلٍّ. فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ فِي ذَلِكَ.
