Sahih Bukhari 4561 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) appointed `Abdullah bin Jubair رضی اللہ عنہ as the commander of the infantry during the battle of Uhud. They returned defeated, and that is what is meant by:– "And the Apostle was calling them back in the rear. None remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) then, but twelve men."
Sahih Bukhari 4561 – Urdu Translation
احد کی لڑائی میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( تیر اندازوں کے ) پیدل دستے پر عبداللہ بن جبیر رضی اللہ عنہ کو افسر مقرر کیا تھا، پھر بہت سے مسلمانوں نے پیٹھ پھیر لی، آیت «فذاك إذ يدعوهم الرسول في أخراهم» ”اور رسول تم کو پکار رہے تھے تمہارے پیچھے سے۔“ میں اسی کی طرف اشارہ ہے، اس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ بارہ صحابیوں کے سوا اور کوئی موجود نہ تھا۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الرَّجَّالَةِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، وَأَقْبَلُوا مُنْهَزِمِينَ، فَذَاكَ إِذْ يَدْعُوهُمُ الرَّسُولُ فِي أُخْرَاهُمْ، وَلَمْ يَبْقَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَيْرُ اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ رَجُلاً.
