Sahih Bukhari 4407 – English Translation
Some Jews said, "Had this Verse been revealed to us, we would have taken that day as `Id (festival)." `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said, "What Verse?" They said:– "This day I have Perfected your religion for you, Completed My Favor upon you And have chosen for you Islam as your religion" (5.3) `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said, "I know the place where it was revealed; It was revealed while Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was staying at `Arafat."
Sahih Bukhari 4407 – Urdu Translation
چند یہودیوں نے کہا کہ اگر یہ آیت ہمارے یہاں نازل ہوئی ہوتی تو ہم اس دن عید منایا کرتے۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا، کون سی آیت؟ انہوں نے کہا «اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتي» ”آج میں نے تم پر اپنے دین کو مکمل کیا اور اپنی نعمت تم پر پوری کر دی۔“ اس پر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ مجھے خوب معلوم ہے کہ یہ آیت کہاں نازل ہوئی تھی۔ جب یہ آیت نازل ہوئی تو رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میدان عرفات میں کھڑے ہوئے تھے ( یعنی حجۃ الوداع میں ) ۔
Sahih Bukhari 4407 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ أُنَاسًا، مِنَ الْيَهُودِ قَالُوا لَوْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ فِينَا لاَتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا. فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَيَّةُ آيَةٍ فَقَالُوا {الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي}. فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ أَىَّ مَكَانٍ أُنْزِلَتْ، أُنْزِلَتْ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ.
