Sahih Bukhari 4201 – English Translation
"The Prophet (ﷺ) took Safiya رضی اللہ عنہ as a captive. He manumitted her and married her." Thabit رضی اللہ عنہ asked Anas رضی اللہ عنہ , "What did he give her as Mahr (i.e. marriage gift)?" Anas رضی اللہ عنہ replied. "Her Mahr was herself, for he manumitted her."
Sahih Bukhari 4201 – Urdu Translation
صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے قیدیوں میں تھیں لیکن آپ نے انہیں آزاد کر کے ان سے نکاح کر لیا تھا۔ ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں مہر کیا دیا تھا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ خود انہیں کو ان کے مہر میں دیا تھا یعنی انہیں آزاد کر دیا تھا۔

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ سَبَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَفِيَّةَ، فَأَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا. فَقَالَ ثَابِتٌ لأَنَسٍ مَا أَصْدَقَهَا قَالَ أَصْدَقَهَا نَفْسَهَا فَأَعْتَقَهَا.
