Sahih Bukhari 4067 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) appointed `Abdullah bin Jubair رضی اللہ عنہما as the commander of the cavalry archers on the day of the battle of Uhud. Then they returned defeated, and that what is referred to by Allah's Statement:– "And the Apostle (Muhammad) was in your rear calling you back." (3.153)
Sahih Bukhari 4067 – Urdu Translation
غزوہ احد کے موقع پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( تیر اندازوں کے ) پیدل دستہ کا امیر عبداللہ بن جبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کو بنایا تھا لیکن وہ لوگ شکست خوردہ ہو کر آئے۔ ( آیت «يدعوهم الرسول في أخراهم.» ان ہی کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی تھی ) اور یہ ہزیمت اس وقت پیش آئی جبکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کو پیچھے سے پکار رہے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الرَّجَّالَةِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، وَأَقْبَلُوا مُنْهَزِمِينَ، فَذَاكَ إِذْ يَدْعُوهُمُ الرَّسُولُ فِي أُخْرَاهُمْ.
