Sahih Bukhari 3792 – English Translation
A man from the Ansar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Will you appoint me as you have appointed so-andso?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "After me you will see others given preference to you; so be patient till you meet me at the Tank (i.e. Lake of Kauthar). (on the Day of Resurrection).
Sahih Bukhari 3792 – Urdu Translation
ایک انصاری صحابی نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ! فلاں شخص کی طرح مجھے بھی آپ حاکم بنادیں ۔ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا میرے بعد ( دنیاوی معاملات میں ) تم پر دوسروں کو ترجیح دی جائے گی اس لیے صبر سے کام لینا ، یہاں تک کہ مجھ سے حوض پر آ ملو ۔
Sahih Bukhari 3792 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ حُضَيْرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَلاَ تَسْتَعْمِلُنِي كَمَا اسْتَعْمَلْتَ فُلاَنًا قَالَ " سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ ".
