Sahih Bukhari 3733 – English Translation
"A woman from Bani Makhzumiya committed a theft and the people said, 'Who can intercede with the Prophet (ﷺ) for her?' So nobody dared speak to him (i.e. the Prophet) but Usama bin Zaid رضی اللہ عنہما spoke to him. The Prophet said, 'If a reputable man amongst the children of Bani Israel committed a theft, they used to forgive him, but if a poor man committed a theft, they would cut his hand. But I would cut even the hand of Fatima رضی اللہ عنہا (i.e. the daughter of the Prophet) if she committed a theft."
Sahih Bukhari 3733 – Urdu Translation
بنی مخزوم کی ایک عورت نے چوری کر لی تھی ۔ قریش نے ( اپنی مجلس میں ) سوچاکہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں اس عورت کی سفارش کے لیے کون جا سکتا ہے ؟ کوئی اس کی جرات نہیں کر سکا ، آخر حضرت اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہما نے سفارش کی تو آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : بنی اسرائیل میں یہ دستور ہو گیا تھا کہ جب کوئی شریف آدمی چوری کرتا تو اسے چھوڑ دیتے اور اگر کوئی کمزور آدمی چوری کرتا تو اس کا ہاتھ کاٹتے ۔ اگرآج فاطمہ ( رضی اللہ عنہا ) نے چوری کی ہوتی تو میں اس کا بھی ہاتھ کاٹتا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ ذَهَبْتُ أَسْأَلُ الزُّهْرِيَّ عَنْ حَدِيثِ الْمَخْزُومِيَّةِ، فَصَاحَ بِي، قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَلَمْ تَحْتَمِلْهُ عَنْ أَحَدٍ قَالَ وَجَدْتُهُ فِي كِتَابٍ كَانَ كَتَبَهُ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ سَرَقَتْ، فَقَالُوا مَنْ يُكَلِّمُ فِيهَا النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ يَجْتَرِئْ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يُكَلِّمَهُ، فَكَلَّمَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، فَقَالَ " إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَ إِذَا سَرَقَ فِيهِمُ الشَّرِيفُ تَرَكُوهُ، وَإِذَا سَرَقَ الضَّعِيفُ قَطَعُوهُ، لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا ".
