Sahih Bukhari 3627 – English Translation
`Umar bin Al-Khattab رضی اللہ عنہما used to treat Ibn `Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما very favorably `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf رضی اللہ عنہ said to him. "We also have sons that are equal to him (but you are partial to him.)" `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said, "It is because of his knowledge." Then `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ asked Ibn `Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ about the interpretation of the Verse:- 'When come the Help of Allah and the conquest (of Mecca) (110.1) Ibn `Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ said. "It portended the death of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), which Allah had informed him of." `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said, "I do not know from this Verse but what you know."
Sahih Bukhari 3627 – Urdu Translation
حضرت عمر بن خطاب ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کو اپنے پاس بٹھاتے تھے ۔ اس پر عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ نے حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے شکایت کی کہ ان جیسے تو ہمارے لڑکے بھی ہیں ۔ لیکن حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ یہ محض ان کے علم کی وجہ سے ہے ۔ پھر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے آیت اذا جاء نصر اللہ والفتح کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات تھی جس کی خبر اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو دی حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا جو تم نے سمجھا ہے میں بھی وہی سمجھتا ہوں ۔
Sahih Bukhari 3627 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يُدْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ إِنَّ لَنَا أَبْنَاءً مِثْلَهُ. فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ تَعْلَمُ. فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ {إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ}. فَقَالَ أَجَلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَعْلَمَهُ إِيَّاهُ. قَالَ مَا أَعْلَمُ مِنْهَا إِلاَّ مَا تَعْلَمُ.
