Sahih Bukhari 3373 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some persons of the tribe of Aslam practicing archery (i.e. the throwing of arrows) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "O offspring of Ishmael! Practice archery (i.e. arrow throwing) as your father was a great archer (i.e. arrow-thrower). I am with (on the side of) the son of so-and-so-." Hearing that, one of the two teams stopped throwing. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked them, ' Why are you not throwing?" They replied, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How shall we throw when you are with the opposite team?" He said, "Throw, for I am with you all."

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم قبیلہ اسلم کی ایک جماعت سے گزرے جو تیراندازی میں مقابلہ کر رہی تھی ۔ حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ‘ اے بنو اسماعیل ! تیراندازی کئے جاؤ کیونکہ تمہارے بزرگ دادا بھی تیرانداز تھے اور میں بنو فلاں کے ساتھ ہوں ۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ یہ سنتے ہی دوسرے فریق نے تیراندازی بند کر دی ۔ حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ‘ کیا بات ہوئی ‘ تم لوگ تیر کیوں نہیں چلاتے ؟ انہوں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ! جب آپ فریق مقابل کے ساتھ ہو گئے تو اب ہم کس طرح تیر چلا سکتے ہیں ۔ اس پر حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا مقابلہ جاری رکھو ‘ میں تم سب کے ساتھ ہوں ۔
Sahih Bukhari 3373 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ يَنْتَضِلُونَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " ارْمُوا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ، فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا، وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلاَنٍ ". قَالَ فَأَمْسَكَ أَحَدُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَرْمُونَ ". فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَهُمْ قَالَ " ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلِّكُمْ ".
