Sahih Bukhari 3126 – English Translation
A bedouin asked the Prophet, "A man may fight for the sake of booty, and another may fight so that he may be mentioned by the people, and a third may fight to show his position (i.e. bravery); which of these regarded as fighting in Allah's Cause?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who fights so that Allah's Word (i.e. Islam) should be superior, fights for Allah's Cause."
Sahih Bukhari 3126 – Urdu Translation
ایک اعرابی ( لاحق بن ضمیرہ باہلی ) نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا ایک شخص ہے جو غنیمت حاصل کرنے کے لئے جہاد میں شریک ہوا ‘ ایک شخص ہے جو اس لئے شرکت کرتا ہے کہ اس کی بہادری کے چرچے زبانوں پر آ جائیں ‘ ایک شخص اس لئے لڑتا ہے کہ اس کی دھاک بیٹھ جائے ‘ تو ان میں سے اللہ کے راستے میں کون سا ہو گا ؟ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ‘ کہ جو شخص جنگ میں شرکت اس لئے کرے تاکہ اللہ کا کلمہ ( دین ) ہی بلند رہے ۔ فقط وہی اللہ کے راستے میں ہے ۔
Sahih Bukhari 3126 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيُّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الرَّجُلُ يُقَاتِلُ لِلْمَغْنَمِ، وَالرَّجُلُ يُقَاتِلُ لِيُذْكَرَ، وَيُقَاتِلُ لِيُرَى مَكَانُهُ، مَنْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ " مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا فَهْوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ".
