Sahih Bukhari 2970 – English Translation
I gave a horse to be used in Allah's Cause, but later on I saw it being sold. I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) whether I could buy it. He said, "Don't buy it and don't take back your gift of charity."
Sahih Bukhari 2970 – Urdu Translation
میں نے اللہ کے راستے میں ( جہاد کے لیے ) اپنا ایک گھوڑا ایک شخص کو سواری کے لیے دے دیا تھا ۔ پھر میں نے دیکھا کہ ( بازار میں ) وہی گھوڑا بک رہا ہے ۔ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا کہ کیا میں اسے خرید سکتا ہوں ؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اس گھوڑے کو تم نہ خریدو اور اپنا صدقہ ( خواہ خرید کر ہی ہو ) واپس نہ لو ۔
Sahih Bukhari 2970 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ، سَأَلَ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَسْلَمَ، فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ، قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ حَمَلْتُ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُبَاعُ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم آشْتَرِيهِ فَقَالَ " لاَ تَشْتَرِهِ، وَلاَ تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ ".
