Sahih Bukhari 2869 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) arranged for a horse race of the horses which had not been made lean; the area of the race was from Ath-Thaniya to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq. (The sub-narrator said, "`Abdullah bin `Umar رضی اللہ عنہما was amongst those who participated in that horse race."). Abu Abd Allah said that Amda (in the hadith) means limit and extreme (in the Holy Qur'an) "Fatal Alaihim al-Amd" which has the same meaning.

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان گھوڑوں کی دوڑ کرائی تھی جنہیں تیار نہیں کیا گیا تھا اور دوڑ کی حد ثنیۃ الوداع سے مسجد بنی زریق رکھی تھی اور عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بھی اس میں شرکت کی تھی ۔ ابوعبداللہ نے کہا کہ امدا ( حدیث میں ) حد اور انتہا کے معنی میں ہے ( قرآن مجید میں ہے ) » فطال علیہم الامد « جو اسی معنی میں ہے ۔
Sahih Bukhari 2869 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَابَقَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ الَّتِي لَمْ تُضَمَّرْ، وَكَانَ أَمَدُهَا مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ. وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ سَابَقَ بِهَا. قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ أَمَدًا غَايَةً فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمْ الْأَمَدُ
