Sahih Bukhari 2598 – English Translation
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "I will give you so much (the Prophet (ﷺ) pointed thrice with his hands) when funds of Bahrain will come to me." But the Prophet (ﷺ) died before the money reached him. (When it came) Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ ordered an announcer to announce that whoever had a money claim on the Prophet (ﷺ) or was promised to be given something, should come to Abu Bakr. I went to Abu Bakr and told him that the Prophet (ﷺ) had promised to give me so much. On that Abu Bakr gave me three handfuls (of money).
Sahih Bukhari 2598 – Urdu Translation
نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے وعدہ فرمایا ، اگر بحرین کا مال ( جزیہ کا ) آیا تو میں تمہیں اتنا اتنا تین لپ مال دوں گا ۔ لیکن بحرین سے مال آنے سے پہلے ہی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم وفات فرما گئے اور حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک منادی سے یہ اعلان کرنے کے لیے کہا کہ جس سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا کوئی وعدہ ہو یا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر اس کا کوئی قرض ہو تو وہ ہمارے پاس آئے ۔ چنانچہ میں آپ کے یہاں گیا اور کہا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے وعدہ کیا تھا ۔ تو انہوں نے تین لپ بھر کر مجھے دئیے ۔
Sahih Bukhari 2598 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لَوْ جَاءَ مَالُ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَعْطَيْتُكَ هَكَذَا ثَلاَثًا ". فَلَمْ يَقْدَمْ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَأَمَرَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عِدَةٌ أَوْ دَيْنٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا. فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَعَدَنِي. فَحَثَى لِي ثَلاَثًا.
