Sahih Bukhari 2226 – English Translation
When the last verses of Surat-al-Baqara were revealed, the Prophet (ﷺ) went out (of his house to the Mosque) and said, "The trade of alcohol has become illegal."

جب سورۃ البقرہ کی تمام آیتیں نازل ہو چکیں تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم باہر تشریف لائے اور فرمایا کہ شراب کی سوداگری حرام قرار دی گئی ہے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ آيَاتُ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ عَنْ آخِرِهَا خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " حُرِّمَتِ التِّجَارَةُ فِي الْخَمْرِ ".
