Sahih Bukhari 2074 – English Translation
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "No doubt, it is better for any one of you to cut a bundle of wood and carry it over his back rather than to ask someone who may or may not give him."
Sahih Bukhari 2074 – Urdu Translation
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا وہ شخص جو لکڑی کا گھٹا اپنی پیٹھ پر لاد کر لائے ، اس سے بہتر ہے جو کسی کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلائے چاہئیے وہ اسے کچھ دیدے یا نہ دے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لأَنْ يَحْتَطِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ حُزْمَةً عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ أَحَدًا، فَيُعْطِيَهُ أَوْ يَمْنَعَهُ ".
