Sahih Bukhari 1918, 1919 – English Translation
Bilal رضی اللہ عنہ used to pronounce the Adhan at night, so Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)? said, "Carry on taking your meals (eat and drink) till Ibn Um Maktum رضی اللہ عنہ pronounces the Adhan, for he does not pronounce it till it is dawn. Qasim bin Muhammad said: There was only as much interval between their calls to prayer as is that one would ascend and the other would descend.

بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کچھ رات رہے سے اذان دے دیا کرتے تھے اس لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب تک ابن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ اذان نہ دیں تم کھاتے پیتے رہو کیونکہ وہ صبح صادق کے طلوع سے پہلے اذان نہیں دیتے ۔ قاسم نے بیان کیا کہ دونوں ( بلال اور ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہما ) کی اذان کے درمیان صرف اتنا فاصلہ ہوتا تھا کہ ایک چڑھتے تو دوسرے اترتے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ.وَالْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ بِلاَلاً، كَانَ يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ ". قَالَ الْقَاسِمُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِهِمَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَرْقَى ذَا وَيَنْزِلَ ذَا.
