Sahih Bukhari 1571 – English Translation
We performed Hajj-at-Tamattu` in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and then the Qur'an was revealed (regarding Hajj-at-Tamattu`) and somebody said what he wished (regarding Hajj-at-Tamattu`) according his own opinion.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ہم نے تمتع کیا تھا اور خود قرآن میں تمتع کا حکم نازل ہوا تھا ۔ اب ایک شخص نے اپنی رائے سے جو چاہا کہہ دیا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُطَرِّفٌ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ تَمَتَّعْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَنَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ قَالَ رَجُلٌ بِرَأْيِهِ مَا شَاءَ.
