Sahih Bukhari 1489 – English Translation
`Umar bin Al-Khattab رضی اللہ عنہ gave a horse in charity in Allah's Cause and later he saw it being sold in the market and intended to purchase it. Then he went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked his permission. The Prophet said, "Do not take back what you have given in charity." For this reason, Ibn `Umar رضی اللہ عنہما never purchased the things which he had given in charity, and in case he had purchased something (unknowingly) he would give it in charity again.
Sahih Bukhari 1489 – Urdu Translation
عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک گھوڑا اللہ کے راستہ میں صدقہ کیا ۔ پھر اسے آپ نے دیکھا کہ وہ بازار میں فروخت ہو رہا ہے ۔ اس لیے ان کی خواہش ہوئی کہ اسے وہ خود ہی خرید لیں ۔ اور اجازت لینے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اپنا صدقہ واپس نہ لو ۔ اسی وجہ سے اگر ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما اپنا دیا ہوا کوئی صدقہ خرید لیتے ‘ تو پھر اسے صدقہ کر دیتے تھے ۔ ( اپنے استعمال میں نہ رکھتے تھے ۔ باب اور حدیث میں مطابقت ظاہر ہے ) ۔
Sahih Bukhari 1489 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ تَصَدَّقَ بِفَرَسٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَوَجَدَهُ يُبَاعُ، فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَهُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاسْتَأْمَرَهُ فَقَالَ " لاَ تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ " فَبِذَلِكَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ لاَ يَتْرُكُ أَنْ يَبْتَاعَ شَيْئًا تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ إِلاَّ جَعَلَهُ صَدَقَةً.
