Sahih Bukhari 1290 – English Translation
"When `Umar رضى الله عنه was stabbed, Suhaib started crying: O my brother! `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said, 'Don't you know that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The deceased is tortured for the weeping of the living'?"
Sahih Bukhari 1290 – Urdu Translation
جب حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو زخمی کیا گیا تو صہیب رضی اللہ عنہ یہ کہتے ہوئے آئے ‘ ہائے میرے بھائی ! اس پر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ کیا تجھ کو معلوم نہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے کہ مردے کو اس کے گھر والوں کے رونے سے عذاب کیا جاتا ہے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ خَلِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ـ وَهْوَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ـ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ لَمَّا أُصِيبَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ جَعَلَ صُهَيْبٌ يَقُولُ وَاأَخَاهُ. فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَىِّ ".
