Sahih Bukhari 1184 – English Translation
I went to `Uqba bin 'Amir Al-Juhani رضی اللہ عنہ and said, "Is it not surprising that Abi Tamim offers two rak`at before the Maghrib prayer?" `Uqba said, "We used to do so in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." I asked him, "What prevents you from offering it now?" He replied, "Business."
Sahih Bukhari 1184 – Urdu Translation
میں عقبہ بن عامر جہنی صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا آپ کو ابوتمیم عبداللہ بن مالک پر تعجب نہیں آیا کہ وہ مغرب کی نماز فرض سے پہلے دو رکعت نفل پڑھتے ہیں ۔ اس پر عقبہ نے فرمایا کہ ہم بھی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں اسے پڑھتے تھے ۔ میں نے کہا پھر اب اس کے چھوڑنے کی کیا وجہ ہے ؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ دنیا کے کاروبار مانع ہیں ۔
Sahih Bukhari 1184 – Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَرْثَدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَزَنِيَّ، قَالَ أَتَيْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ فَقُلْتُ أَلاَ أُعْجِبُكَ مِنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلاَةِ الْمَغْرِبِ. فَقَالَ عُقْبَةُ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم. قُلْتُ فَمَا يَمْنَعُكَ الآنَ قَالَ الشُّغْلُ.
