masjid mein dakhil hone ki dua is a short Sunnah dua that every Muslim can say each time they step into the mosque for salah. On this page you will find the dua for entering the masjid and the dua for leaving it, each in Arabic with Roman Urdu, Urdu tarjuma and English meaning. People also search for it as “masjid me dakhil hone ki dua”, “masjid se nikalne ki dua” or “dua for entering masjid”.
When you enter the mosque, say this dua. Use the button below the Arabic text to copy it.
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
It is only four words long, so even children can learn it in a day.
When you leave the mosque after salah, say this second dua.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
Notice the pairing: we ask for Allah’s mercy when we come in for worship, and for His bounty when we go back out to work, study and earn a living.
If you cannot read Arabic yet, this Roman Urdu version of masjid mein dakhil hone ki dua will help you start. In the first dua, “Allahumma” joins straight into “ftah”, so it sounds like “Allahummaf-tah”. Do not stop between the two words.
Here is the Urdu meaning of masjid mein dakhil hone ki dua and the leaving dua:
داخل ہوتے وقت: اے اللہ! میرے لیے اپنی رحمت کے دروازے کھول دے۔
نکلتے وقت: اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے تیرے فضل کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔
Entering: “O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.”
Leaving: “O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty.”
Both duas come from Sahih Muslim 713. Abu Humaid or Abu Usaid (the narrator was not sure which of the two) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When any one of you enters the mosque, he should say: ‘O Allah! open for me the doors of Thy mercy’; and when he steps out he should say: ‘O Allah! I beg of Thee Thy Grace.'”
The Quran also reminds us of the special status of the mosque. Allah says: “And the mosques are for Allah, so do not invoke anyone along with Allah” (Surah Al-Jinn 72:18). He also says: “O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid” (Surah Al-A’raf 7:31), which is why we go to the mosque clean and decently dressed.
Read masjid mein dakhil hone ki dua at the moment you step through the door, before you sit down. The leaving dua is read as you step out. A simple routine:
You can say the dua in a low voice; there is no need to say it loudly. It is the same dua for every mosque, including Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi.
Children love going to the mosque with their parents. Teach them the entering dua first, since it is the shorter one, and say it together at the door each time. Once they know it, add the leaving dua.
Explain the meaning in simple words: “We ask Allah to open His doors of mercy for us.” When children understand what they are saying, they remember it much longer.
