Maghfirat ki dua is a supplication asking Allah for forgiveness of sins. Below are authentic maghfirat ki duain from the Quran and Sahih Hadith. 1. Maghfirat Ki Dua (Sahih Muslim 2697)
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي
Roman Urdu: Allāhummaghfir lī, warḥamnī, wahdinī, wa ʿāfinī, warzuqnī.
اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے، مجھ پر رحم فرما، مجھے ہدایت دے، مجھے عافیت دے اور مجھے رزق عطا فرما۔
English: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being and provide for me.
The Prophet ﷺ taught this dua to a man who had just accepted Islam. He said these words gather for a person the good of this world and the Hereafter.

2. Sayyidul Istighfar – the Best Dua for Forgiveness (Sahih Bukhari 6306)
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Roman Urdu: Allāhumma anta rabbī lā ilāha illā ant, khalaqtanī wa ana ʿabduk, wa ana ʿalā ʿahdika wa waʿdika mastaṭaʿt, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿt, abū’u laka bi niʿmatika ʿalayya, wa abū’u laka bi dhambī, faghfir lī, fa innahū lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā ant.
اے اللہ! تو میرا رب ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ تو نے مجھے پیدا کیا اور میں تیرا بندہ ہوں، اور میں اپنی طاقت کے مطابق تیرے عہد اور وعدے پر قائم ہوں۔ میں اپنے کیے ہوئے کاموں کے شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ میں تیری نعمتوں کا اقرار کرتا ہوں جو مجھ پر ہیں اور اپنے گناہ کا اعتراف کرتا ہوں، پس مجھے بخش دے، کیونکہ تیرے سوا کوئی گناہوں کو نہیں بخشتا۔
English: O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Virtue: The Prophet ﷺ called this the best way of seeking forgiveness. Whoever says it during the day with firm faith and dies that day before evening will be among the people of Paradise. The same is true of someone who says it at night and dies before morning.

3. Dua of Prophet Adam (AS) from the Quran (Surah Al-A’raf 7:23)
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Roman Urdu: Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa in lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna minal-khāsirīn.
اے ہمارے رب! ہم نے اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا، اور اگر تو نے ہمیں نہ بخشا اور ہم پر رحم نہ کیا تو ہم ضرور نقصان اٹھانے والوں میں سے ہو جائیں گے۔
English: Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers.

4. Short Istighfar for Every Day
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Roman Urdu: Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh.
میں اللہ سے بخشش مانگتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف توبہ کرتا ہوں۔
English: I seek Allah’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance.
The Prophet ﷺ said he sought Allah’s forgiveness and repented to Him more than seventy times a day.

5. Walidain Ki Maghfirat Ki Dua (Surah Ibrahim 14:41)
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Roman Urdu: Rabbanaghfir lī wa li wālidayya wa lil-mu’minīna yawma yaqūmul-ḥisāb.
اے ہمارے رب! مجھے، میرے والدین کو اور تمام مومنوں کو اس دن بخش دے جس دن حساب قائم ہوگا۔
English: Our Lord, forgive me, my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.

6. Dua for Parents’ Mercy (Surah Al-Isra 17:24)
رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Roman Urdu: Rabbir-ḥamhumā kamā rabbayānī ṣaghīrā.
اے میرے رب! ان دونوں پر رحم فرما جیسے انہوں نے بچپن میں میری پرورش کی۔
English: My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small.

7. Marhoom Ki Maghfirat Ki Dua (Sahih Muslim 963)
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ
Roman Urdu: Allāhummaghfir lahū, warḥamhu, wa ʿāfihī, waʿfu ʿanhu.
اے اللہ! اسے بخش دے، اس پر رحم فرما، اسے عافیت دے اور اسے معاف فرما۔
English: O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him.
