Chhata Kalma, known as Kalma Radd-e-Kufr (rejection of disbelief), is the sixth of the six kalmas commonly taught in Pakistan and India. It is also spelled Chata or 6th Kalma. Read it below in Arabic with Roman Urdu, Urdu and English meaning.
Roman Urdu: Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min an ushrika bika shay’an wa ana aʿlamu bih, wa astaghfiruka limā lā aʿlamu bih, tubtu ʿanhu wa tabarra’tu minal-kufri wash-shirki wal-kidhbi wal-ghībati wal-bidʿati wan-namīmati wal-fawāḥishi wal-buhtāni wal-maʿāṣī kullihā, wa aslamtu wa aqūlu lā ilāha illallāhu Muḥammadur-rasūlullāh.
English: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating anything with You, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know. I repent from it. I free myself from disbelief, polytheism, lying, backbiting, innovation, tale-carrying, indecency, slander and all sins. I have submitted, and I say: there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah; Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah.
The opening of Chhata Kalma is close to a dua the Prophet ﷺ taught Abu Bakr (RA). He told him that shirk can be more hidden than the creeping of an ant, and taught him to say:
Reference: Al-Adab al-Mufrad 716
The rest of the wording is compiled and is not found as one hadith. It is taught in South Asia as a declaration rejecting disbelief and major sins.
Kalma Radd-e-Kufr, which means the kalma rejecting disbelief.
To seek Allah’s protection from shirk, to seek forgiveness for unknown sins, and to renew one’s declaration of faith.
