Sahih Bukhari 3506 – English Translation
`Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ called Zaid bin Thabit, `Abdullah bin Az-Zubair, Sa`id bin Al-`As and `Abdur Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hisham رضی اللہ عنہم , and then they wrote the manuscripts of the Holy Qur'an in the form of book in several copies. `Uthman رضی اللہ عنہ said to the three Quraishi persons. " If you differ with Zaid bin Thabit رضی اللہ عنہ on any point of the Qur'an, then write it in the language of Quraish, as the Qur'an was revealed in their language." So they acted accordingly. (Sa`id bin Thabit was an Ansari and not from Quraish ).
Sahih Bukhari 3506 – Urdu Translation
حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے زید بن ثابت ، عبداللہ بن زبیر ، سعید بن عاص اور عبدالرحمٰن بن حارث بن ہشام رضی اللہ عنہم کو بلایا ( اور ان کو قرآن مجید کی کتابت پر مقرر فرمایا ، چنانچہ ان حضرات نے ) قرآن مجید کو کئی مصحفوں میں نقل فرمایا اور حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے ( ان چاروں میں سے ) تین قریشی صحابہ سے فرمایا تھا کہ جب آپ لوگوں کا زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ سے ( جو مدینہ منورہ کے رہنے والے تھے ) قرآن کے کسی مقام پر ( اس کے کسی محاورے میں ) اختلاف ہو جائے تو اس کو قریش کے محاورے کے مطابق لکھنا ، کیونکہ قرآن شریف قریش کے محاورہ میں نازل ہوا ہے ۔ انہوں نے ایسا ہی کیا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ، دَعَا زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعِيدَ بْنَ الْعَاصِ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ فَنَسَخُوهَا فِي الْمَصَاحِفِ، وَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ لِلرَّهْطِ الْقُرَشِيِّينَ الثَّلاَثَةِ إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، فَاكْتُبُوهُ بِلِسَانِ قُرَيْشٍ، فَإِنَّمَا نَزَلَ بِلِسَانِهِمْ. فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ.
